Junior Classes (all grades)
Junior classes are for children aged 5-9 years. Classes are designed to develop three main areas: traditional Gōjū Ryū techniques, physical and mental skills, and personal values. These three areas are important in early learning and assisting children to reach their full potential.
Junior Kumite (all grades except white belts)
Immediately following the Junior Class, coloured belts take part in Junior Kumite. Different from self-defence and static technique acquisition, kumite teaches students to apply their skills in motion, against an opponent.
Senior Classes (all grades)
Junior classes are for students aged 10+. In these classes, karateka (practitioners of karate) follow the more traditional teachings of Gōjū Ryū. Recognition of learning comes in the form of gradings, where students are given the opportunity to perform their skills before a panel of judges. Successful gradings result in promotion to the next level.
Senior Kumite (all grades except white belts)
Immediately preceding the Senior Class, coloured belts take part in Senior Kumite. Different from self-defence and static technique acquisition, kumite teaches students to apply their skills in motion, against an opponent.
